Alex Evans, GroupWise Product Manager, answers to questions posted on his last week published GroupWise Mobility Update

ActiveSync is a protocol, so we can implement it in any fashion we chose.

We will be implementing it on Linux and Windows so that you have the choice on how to deploy.

This is a benefit of our relationship with Microsoft, where we are able to offer support for what is becoming the de facto mobility protocol, aside from the BES.

Most of the new devices on the market, and many of the older devices out there have an ActiveSync client on them – which means that they will be able to sync with GW with no modifications.
